Who is eligible to become a member?
If you would like to become a member of the Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia (IBANS), you must meet the following criteria:
You must hold a valid general insurance license from the Province of Nova Scotia;
Your primary occupation must be that of general insurance broker,
You must have contracts or agreements with insurance companies which do not prohibit you from representing other insurers or groups of insurers.
Why become an IBANS member?
There are many advantages to becoming a member of IBANS. Some of these are:
- participating with other insurance brokers to create policy for your industry;
- receiving professional development accreditation at discounted prices;
- having access to Errors and Omissions insurance and Fidelity Bond coverage with cost savings;
- enjoying the privileges of the Broker Identity Program;
- receiving discounts for products and services that you can use in your business;
- receiving CSIO products and services at cheaper rates;
- enjoying the full privileges of this web site.
How to become an IBANS member:
You must submit an application in writing to become a member of the Association. If it is accepted, you will be sent an invoice for annual dues, which comprise membership dues and a broker identity program (BIP) assessment. Your membership will begin on receipt of your cheque for annual dues.
