Job Description / Duties

We are looking for someone young and eager who wants to get their foot in the door of the insurance industry. We are specifically looking for someone who is quick, efficient, and well-versed in data entry.

Please note that we are not looking for licensed individuals, former team leads, or those with prior broker experience.

This is a remote position, Monday to Friday during standard business hours, and requires a reliable home workspace with consistent availability throughout your shift.

You’ll also take the lead on exciting initiatives like our Cheep Apartment Protection Program (CAPP) and contribute to streamlining processes that help the entire team work more efficiently.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Accurately upload new business, endorsement, and cancellation information into insurer portals and internal systems, meeting compliance standards and turnaround time targets.
2. Review and action daily reports and pending download bins, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy and timely follow-through.
3. Communicate professionally and effectively with insurer underwriting and technical support teams to resolve issues and improve workflows.
4. Actively contribute to team meetings, one-on-ones, and overall team performance goals, including sharing feedback on process efficiencies.
5. Support team training initiatives by assisting with onboarding, virtual training, and job shadowing sessions.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurer binding authorities, submission procedures, and rating/underwriting changes.
7. Understand and correctly apply payment and financing methods (direct bill, agency bill, premium financing) in accordance with established procedures.
8. Review and process new policies, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce errors.
9. Manage billing-related and legal policy documents, ensuring accurate records, timely client notices, and continuous improvement in document handling practices.
10. Manage shared inboxes and internal workflows, triaging requests efficiently and suggesting process improvements to enhance turnaround times and service quality.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Post-secondary education and/or equivalent on the job experience would be an asset
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry
• Proficient with computer applications and quick to learn new systems
• Organized and able to manage time across competing priorities
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in the insurance industry or with insurer portals is a strong asset
• Eager to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time
