Expressions of Interest: IBANS Board of Directors
IBANS is seeking to fill up to two (2) board vacancies for the upcoming year, starting this fall. As our industry evolves IBANS wants to ensure we have the right people in place to face new challenges and take the Association to the next level.
This amazing opportunity is open to Principals and staff, located in NS, who are employed by an IBANS corporate member brokerage.

- Provide input on new 3 year Strategic Plan and help both to set and meet identified goals
Who We are Looking For
Many of our directors have noted that their terms with the board provided them with a chance to give back and shape the P&C insurance industry, grow their knowledge base and make life-long connections with other professionals throughout the country.
- Candidates should be willing to take on this multi-year commitment
- Candidates should be aware of what the Association does and follow the broker code of ethics
- Candidates need to be willing to provide oversight to the Association and follow good governance practices (this is not an operational board)
- Candidates must be able to attend the eight (8) monthly board meetings held annually and AGM
- Candidates must be willing to attend as many IBANS sponsored events as possible throughout the year or travel provincially or nationally as needed, pending position on the board (role)
- Candidates must possess a good working knowledge of the insurance industry
The following items will also be taken into consideration by the Nominations Committee when reviewing all submissions - diversity and inclusion- gender, age, rural versus urban representation, size of brokerage, education and experience/skill set. In addition, those individuals interested in applying must have the support of their brokerage.
Submission Deadline - August 16, 2024
Candidates should include the following information:
- full name
- brokerage employed with
- position at brokerage
- years in industry and roles
- any special skills or interests that would benefit the Association
- why you would like to join the board
