Bursaries & Awards
Members of the Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia (IBANS) and their families are eligible to apply for educational bursaries and scholarships to support their professional development.
Awards
CAIB 1 TOP STUDENT AWARD
An annual award is presented to the top IBANS member student for CAIB 1 in the calendar year. This award is given to the student with the highest overall mark. This $250 award is presented at the graduation ceremony.
CAIB TOP STUDENT AWARD
IBANS presents an award annually to the member graduate with the highest overall average not including re-sit exams. The recipient of this award must obtain an average of 80% or higher. The award determination is made prior to convocation where it is presented. This award consists of $500 award.
W. RITCHIE MACCOY AWARD
Established in 1979 in memory of one of the Association's founders. The criteria for this award revolves around dedication to IBANS, the industry and other members and to furthering the image and profession of an insurance broker. The award is presented at IBANS Annual General Meeting. This award is selected by members of the Executive for outstanding service to the broker channel and IBANS.
