Job Description / Duties

We have an opening in our Halifax office for a Commercial Client Service Broker. We require a highly motivated, client-focused individual to join our Independent (Small) Business Unit. The Commercial Client Service Broker will help service and manage insurance programs for clients in various industry sectors.

Key Job Responsibilities:
• Ability to analyze client coverage, exposures and loss experience to determine risk requirements
• Ensure policies meet the needs of the clients
• Oversee renewals, endorsement and certificate requests
• Negotiate renewals and remarket initiatives
• Responsible for accuracy of policy documents and timely delivery of renewals
• Claims reporting and resolution of claim issues that may arise
• Follow up of account receivables
• Up-sell & cross-sell existing clients
• Keep up to date with markets and changing coverages within the industry

Qualifications / Required Skills

Education and Experience Requirements:
• General Insurance License Level I
• CAIB and/or CIP designation as asset
• Must possess good commercial knowledge and be able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a highly automated environment
• Great technical and negotiating skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Able to work confidently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook
• Proficiency with EPIC an asset
