Job Description / Duties

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and experienced self-starter to join our commercial insurance team. The role involves managing the client service experience and providing timely, expert insurance advice to our clients and prospects. This role places more emphasis on in depth insurance review and analysis than administrative tasks, so previous commercial lines experience is preferred, however training can be provided for the right candidate. Current opportunity is a 12-14 month contract (Maternity Leave replacement) in our Amherst, NS office.

Key Job Responsibilities
• Manage the day to day client servicing requirements
• Provide internal support for Producers, Accounting Department and others.
• Responsible for ensuring accuracy in documents and delivery of same
• Assist with reporting of claims and updating underwriting schedules
• Analyze client coverage, exposures and loss experience to determine risk requirements
• Review renewal comparison documents and assist with marketing of account and negotiating with underwriters
• Keep up to date with markets and changing coverages within the industry.
• Work with producers on cross selling opportunities and accessing resources within Gallagher
• Adherence to internal Gallagher Compliance, i.e., internal audit and compliance to workflow

Qualifications / Required Skills

Education and Experience Requirements
• NS General Insurance Broker license
• CAIB or CIP designations an asset
• Commercial Insurance experience is preferred, however an understanding of the insurance industry is required
• Must be an excellent communicator with above average customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines and work confidently in a fast-paced environment
• Great technical and negotiating ability with a strong attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and knowledge of EPIC or TAM an asset
