Job Description / Duties

• Analyse client specific exposures and develop coverage requirements.
• Prepare marketing proposals (submissions) for renewal and new business.
• Negotiate with underwriters to establish best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage.
• Follow up with insurers to confirm terms of the negotiated contract are met.
• Establish contacts and cultivate relationships with underwrtitting community in an effort to achieve the best rates and coverage for WCL Bauld clients.
• Request, review and approve applicable insurance documentation and information collected and prepared by producers.
• Provide guidence, training and mentoring to assist in the development of commercial producers.
• Track and report on commercial submissions.
• Create & maintain an always current database of insurer-to-risk appetite.
• Communicate changes in the insurer-to-risk appetite with the sales and business development teams.
• Supplemental support to the Commercial Lines Service Team.
• On an as-needed basis; present or deliver & explain terms and conditions to exisitng or new clients – either independently, or accompanied by another team representiative.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Education
• University degree or college diploma

Professional Designation
• Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or Canadian Insurance Professional (CIP)

Knowledge, Skills and abilities
• Solid understanding of coverage and settlement practices
• Strong negotiations skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong skills in Microsoft office products with a particular emphasis on MS Excel.

Experience
• 3-5 years experience in commercial insurance

In this role, you will develop, negotiate and manage all aspects of coverage and marketing in support of accurate and responsive insurance coverage for existing commercial customers and prospective clients. We are seeking an individual who is a strategic thinker and has the ability to solve problems, present alternative courses of action and make decisions when faced with issues or barriers to successful insurance coverage placement.

Candidate could be required to use their own vehicle to occasionally meet with clients or to attend Insurer functions.

Salary: commensurate with experience + commissions
