April is Broker Month in Nova Scotia

Insurance Broker Month provides an opportunity to raise public awareness about the important role brokers play in protecting the public and their possessions.  It is also a celebration of the successes that take place every day in the industry and an opportunity to acknowledge these achievements.

Since 2008 when the Association approached government to proclaim April as "Insurance Broker Month" IBANS has worked to create events for its members as well as reinforce the benefits of working with a licensed broker to consumers.

Some of this year's activities include:

  • New Look. New Name. New Awards! The newly created ASPIRE AWARDS.  With five new award categories and expanded criteria.  Awards will be presented at a gala dinner April 7th, 2016 which will also feature IBANS Graduation ceremonies.
  • Decorating contest for members of their premises to show support for the broker network using our national symbol the BIPPER and our national color.
  • Private Reception and Dinner for political representatives to discuss issues affecting consumers as they relate to insurance.  
  • A charitable donation of 75 Bipper Blankets will be given to Metro Turning Point to assist those less fortunate.
